84th PERF MEETING Emerging Environmental Challenges and Risks
November 9-10th, 2011The 84th PERF meeting was on November 9th and 10th, 2011 and hosted by ConocoPhillips at their Technology Center in Bartlesville, OK. The theme was "Emerging Environmental Challenges & Risks". Topics proposed for discussion included water management trends, the water/energy nexus, trace constituent management, water challenges in heavy oil operations, hydrofracturing, refinery waste water treatment, reuse and recycle, outfall regulatory trends, air quality and emissions challenges (VOCs, PM, inventory measurement and estimating), and emerging biofuels challenges, among others. A reception and dinner took place at the historic Frank Phillips Lodge at Woolaroc.

REFINERY WASTEWATER FOCUSED PERF WORKSHOP

The Refinery Wastewater Focused PERF Workshop was hosted by Chevron in their office of San Ramon, CA on June 14-15th, 2011.
Objectives of this workshop were:
- Renew and Maintain the succesful technical network generated by PERF Membrane BioReactor project
- Share and discuss common refinery wastewater issues
- Hear from vendors and experts in the fiels of interest
- Finalize frame and participation of proposed PERF online monitoring project
- Generate additional PERF project proposals if warranted
