80th PERF meeting : INDUSTRY AND ACADEMY WORKING TOGETHER

Industry and Academia Working Together
Aramco Services Company hosted the 80th PERF Fall meeting at Rice University in Houston, TX.
Numerous universities were represented at the meeting in addition to speakers from Rice University. This meeting was be a great opportunity to promote discussion and interaction between university researchers, O&G companies, and current needs for environmental research and development. It was also a good event for students to attend and discuss environmental issues with professionals of the Oil and Gas industry.
The day before the meeting was held the PERF Research Manager Discussion and the PERF Board Meeting.
The Research Manager Discussion allowed Research Manager to discuss about O&G environmental issues. They defined PERF's topics of interest for the next years.
The Board meeting was turned on practical PERF issues, as next PERF meeting and projects follow up and emulation.
The technical meeting started on November 18 at the Duncan Hall of Rice University. On November 19 , there were additional technical presentations and roundtable discussions. Business items (status report and project proposals) took place on November 18

PROJECT PROPOSALS
There was no new project proposal during this meeting. However previous PERF project proposals and pre-proposals were presented to the attendance. It was also remind how PERF project are working, and how members and non-members could present project proposals.
You can take a look at current projects proposals, and pre-proposals from the Spring PERF meeting in Amsterdam.
UPSTREAM and DOWNSTREAM BREAK-OUT DISCUSSIONS
The PERF organization always keep some time to have break-out discussions on Upstream and Dowstrream. It is always a good moment to share issues and ideas of research. It could lead to pre-project proposals or just informal conference calls to create new topics of research.
